“Madscope”

I tried to get some technical information from Medscope or Madscope on one of their nebulisers that I intended to purchase for my son
The so called “professional customer service” could not answer any of my questions and needed to call me back after checking with “technical department at the manufacturers “
When they finally called back, it was to confirm that the parts were not dishwasher safe.
I was given a vague response to my other queries.
This Company claims to be Professional Suppliers of Medical Supplies & Equipment and I fail to understand why the customer service could not answer such basic questions
I later purchased the nebuliser at ClinicalGuard.com who provided me with all the information.

I am not sure if this is a joke or not.
This Peter Penny from Madscope has published some strange articles regarding Welch Allyn ECG machines and other medical stuff
I came by this one when looking up heart conditions

As Medical Professional, I am outraged that this person Peter Penny actually gives medical advice in the adverts he publishes.

He has written this advice to parents in one of the adverts called “Buy Eye Charts and Take care of These Precious Organs by Medscope & Peter Penny “
“If your child complains of headaches, inability to read for long and is not able to make out letters from a distance, has poor concentration, ask him or her to use a eye chart

To advise parents to actually test their children’s eye sight themselves after purchasing one of the eye charts from Medscope is very irresponsible.

The symptoms that he describes can in fact be symptoms of serious medical conditions and to give advice that one should reach for one of his eye charts and do some eye exercise is a very dangerous one

For a routine eye test you should always consult your GP who can then refer you to an Optometrist for further testing

I have never heard of this company Medscope and assume that they sell home -care products which then are advertised in blogs and magazines. This information alone makes me suspicious. There are a lot of so called medical products aimed at this market and not regulated.

I came across this ad on ADPost as I was looking to buy cuffs for an ECG Machine.

I am not aware of a brand called Health Care Equipments nor have I ever come across top brands such as Welch Allyn advertising in this way.

This guy Peter Penny has several ads out for ECG machines, claiming that he is an Agent for Welch Allyn

I suspect this is fraud and I would not recommend anyone to buy medical equipment advertised in this manner

Free Health advice by Peter Penny of Medscope Limited Unit 3 College Farm Buildings Tetbury Road Cirencester GL7 6PY

I have seen a lot of of health related articles published on the internet by this person Peter Penny.

I assume that the readers believe that he is a Medical Doctor. I have done some research and Peter Penny the Director of Medscope Limited is definitively not a Medical Doctor.

I quote from some of his articles

“A good workout is a must for a healthy living. It cures a person of half of his problems.” He then goes on to make publicity for the Power Plate machines that he advertise in different online ads together with ECG Machines such as the Welch Allyn CP100.

“Doctors recommend keeping a medical thermometer at home. Temperature of a person can be taken by inserting a medical thermometer into the mouth, into the rectum or under the armpit. If you have a moderate temperature, you can wait to see your doctor until the next day or can even wait to see if your symptoms clear up without medical consultation”

“It is advisable to take your temperature rectally. One should be very careful while taking a rectal temperature. One must first apply Vaseline to lubricate the thermometer and then it must be inserted into the rectum”

He has also published his “work” in most European Languages –such as this one

As far as I know Peter Penny was recently selling jeans in Kings Road in London and at the same time he was also operating a Valeting Service Company from Broomhill Road in South West London. This Company was polishing shoes, picking up and delivering dry-cleaning.

I have been advised that these two Companies have now disappeared.

I was going to buy a Welch Allyn Diagnostic Set from Morton Medical but after first being mislead regarding a “special offer “ which turned out be more expensive that the initial price ,then the encounter with their totally incompetent and downright rude customer service agent I took my business elsewhere

Today’s special offer on their web site reads Welch Allyn Diagnostic Set -was £ 107.00 but when you actually put the order through you are charged 155.00 – link below

I suspect the errors on the discounted prices are with the intent of drawing in business and after reading this blog regarding the company and the Director Peter Penny it all looks rather suspicious .This practice with a advertised discount which is not honored is known as bait and switch and it is illegal

MADSCOPE – IT MUST BE
I was In contact with the Customer Service at Medscope on a Monday morning, requesting some info regarding the Corneal Magnifying Lens on a Welch Allyn Unit.

Not a single person in Customer Service or for that matter in the Sales Department were able to answer my questions and they had little or no product knowledge regarding the Welch Allyn Diagnostic Products.

However a simple Ampoule case was described by the Sales Agent as an innovative container for advanced solutions
